Pamela Gockley, "The Fixer!", Entrepreneur, Keynote Speaker, Author, Trainer and Coach
In 1996, a small Internet website graphics, design, and maintenance company called “Grumpy Graphics” was started by Pamela Gockley and Dean Hornberger. This venture blossomed into an award-winning, multi-service corporation headed by Pam as President, CEO, and Chairman.
PennsylvaniaJobs.Com was the first affiliate in the Vigilant family. It is a recruiting website for businesses. It also offers the "The Job Search Success" program which teaches job seekers how to navigate the hiring process. We have coached many people through the process.
In 2004 Pam was selected as one of Best 50 Outstanding Business Women in Pennsylvania. Then-Governor Ed Rendell presented the award to her for her years of success in owning and operating Vigilant, as well as her many years of service to the community. In 2005 she received the Entrepreneurial Achievement Award from Kutztown University's Small Business Development Center.
Pam's experiences showed her that there was a need for a new kind of corporate mentoring and training, especially pertaining to women and their increasing influence in the business world. She began gathering a staff of experts in various regimens to join her in filling that need, and formed Gockley Associates in 2004. Pam brings a wealth of business and employment experience to Gockley Associates.
In addition to her role at Gockley Associates, she is the President/CEO of Vigilant Internet Services Corp., a full-service web design, hosting, and management company based in Reading, Pa.
Pam maintains a wide range of business commitments, from the Vigilant family of businesses to her active role as a leader in many business women's organizations. She continues to be active and assert a leadership role in many community service programs. She frequently is a keynote speaker for business groups, corporations, colleges and non-profit organizations.
In 2010, she felt a need to share her knowledge with others and wrote a book based on her successes and failures while being a woman entrepreneur in a male-dominated technology industry. The book focuses on personal professional development and has many common-sense ideas and observations, written through personal stories and a sense of humor. The book was selected by a literary agent in 2011 and should be available in 2012.
